Our Silver Lake Workshops fill the old 1822 Silver Lake Mill in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, a building which enjoys its own 175-year history. Restored by us in 2000, it is the center of our many projects on behalf of our customers. When we speak with you on the telephone, we are likely sitting by a window here at the mill by Silver Lake.

The arts we apply here span the millennia, from the ancient porcelain artisans of China, the renowned potteries of Stoke-on-Trent in England, to the technology-driven methods of the 21st Century. But all of our work is just that – an art. And it is that sense of artistry, woven with innovation, that we bring to your project.

What we are able to accomplish for you – whatever your needs are – is limited only by the imagination. And that’s really no limitation at all, is it?
 

SINCE 1984

LDA began over 20 years ago, when we developed the concept for a custom Christmas ornament–it required kiln-firing 22k gold on very thin glass. Our first efforts were rewarded with large clumps of melted glass. While we worked to overcome the difficulties, industry mentors told us it could not be done. At this writing, we’ve been doing it for more than 20 years.

CREATIVE CUSTOM PRODUCTS

Historically, our workshops have focused on the custom decoration of ceramics using traditional decorating techniques dating back 250 years to the potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, England. Today, our offerings encompass not only ceramics, but include extensive offerings in glass and textiles. We have also added custom packaging of gift sets, such as soaps, foods, firestarters, flower bulbs, and more.

From studying the 250-year-old techniques of English potters, to walking the ancient streets of China’s “porcelain cities,” we immerse ourselves in the creative possibilities – all on your behalf.
